Action Alert 9/18/22: Delta Tunnel Hearings and Science for Communities

The California Department of Water Resources public hearings on the draft environmental impact report (EIR) on the proposed Delta Conveyance Project have begun. Read Barbara’s latest blog on the subject for a summary of where we are right now in the process. We need everyone to get involved. 

Below you will find instructions from DWR on how to make a three minute virtual public comment at one of the meetings. Remember 250 to 300 words is the maximum number of words for a 3-minute comment.

Delta Stewardship Council’s “Science For Communities” Workshop

This hybrid workshop will showcase collaborations formed between science and community partners on important Delta issues and include a plenary presentation, panel discussions, environmental justice community input board, tour of the grounds, and meet-and-greet networking event. 

Community-based organizations presenting include: California Indian Environmental Alliance, Sacramento Regional Coalition to End Homelessness, Sustain Our Abilities, Public Health Advocates, Restore the Delta, and Little Manila Rising.

The event is open to the public and free with registration. In-person attendance is limited and will be determined on a first-come-first-serve basis, so if you’d like to attend in-person, please register ASAP. You can register here.
