• In Chico: Bidwell Presbyterian Church, 208 W. First St., is a donation drop-off center for the Red Cross, open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Current needs include: diapers (child/adult), toiletries, first aid supplies, feminine hygiene products, water, and snack foods and nonperishable foods: http://www.bidwellpres.org/

Resources for Pet Owners and Animals Affected by Fires

• Butte Humane Society: Donations of food or supplies can be made for displaced pet owners from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the warehouse 2580 Fair St. Chico. The pantry is available to anyone affected by the fire in need of food and supplies for pets, 343-7917: https://buttehumane.org/

North Valley Animal Disaster Group: Donations of large and small crates, collars, leashes, bowls, food are being taken at the old county hospital, 2279 Del Oro Road, Oroville. 895-0000. Financial donations are most critical and can be made on the Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/nvadg

• Many missing cats from the Camp Fire have been taken to the UC Davis Veterinary Medicine Center. Share the link to their Facebook page to unite people to their companion animals:

Volunteer Time and Talents
The State of California has set up a volunteer website for the wildfires: https://californiavolunteers.ca.gov/current-disasters/

An Emergency Volunteer Center is open at Caring Choices. People interested in volunteering can go to their website to sign up. Specifically, they are looking for extra physicians to work this Friday and Saturday for night shifts. Anyone with the required skills who is available can visit their office at 1398 Ridgewood Drive in Chico.
