“Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country.”
– Charles E. Weller
Now is the time for all good Californians to stand up for the Delta
(LAST PUBLIC HEARINGS ON THE TUNNELS)
We are sure that most of our followers know by now that the Delta Tunnels/CA Water Fix/BDCP/Dated Peripheral Canal Retread is now back in the public commenting period. Listen to our press teleconference by clicking here and learn how new lipstick on this pig of a project fails to make it any more appealing.
A revised partial EIR/EIS (Environmental Impact Report) was posted July 9, 2015 and public comments are due August 31, 2015. The Brown Administration’s official propaganda push (besides what is already coming out of Stewart Resnick’s Californian’s for Water Security PR machine for big growers and special interests) will hold a press conference for reporters only on Monday, July 13, 2015. Because you know, the public doesn’t matter.
The only public events regarding the project will be held by Tunnels/DWR/CA Water Fix/BDCP officials on July 28, 2015 in Sacramento, and in Walnut Grove, July 29, 2015. California Friends — this is the last of two public hearings on the Delta boondoggle tunnels project. They are making it an open house so that they don’t have to listen to public comments or respond to the outrage of hundreds of thousands of Californians who oppose the destruction the largest estuary on the west coast of the Americas.
The Brown Administration will not provide officials to receive public comments, and they will not respond to the 8,000 comments we all filed last year, but that does not mean that we are not going to be heard.
Help us transform the open house.
Our goal: a video of how large we really are to share with the Secretary Jewell at the Department of the Interior and with President Obama. We will provide you with insightful questions to ask, help you craft your own thoughts, and plan some spirited, yet respectful activities to transform their dull open house into a party to oppose the tunnels. Buses available from Antioch, Discovery Bay, Stockton and Oakland! RSVP to [email protected]. Let’s win this thing once and for all!
We are asking everyone to show up (that means you supporter who only reads our work on-line) with a three-minute comment. We will have you read your comment outside for our video crew, and we will read them for the court reporter inside. We are also planning some fun filled, inspired activities that day, because after all an open house is a party. We are going to make it into a real open house. Something fun and memorable!
Let’s show Governor Brown how many people oppose the Delta tunnels and let’s have fun doing it. And if you drive to us from other parts of the state, please contact our office (209-475-9550) if you need help with accommodations.
