Restore the Delta to Hold Anti-Tunnels Meeting:
Impacts of BDCP Tunnels, Better Water Solutions

STOCKTON, CA – Restore the Delta (RTD), opponents of Gov. Brown’s plan to build massive underground Water Export Tunnels that would drain the Delta and doom salmon and other Pacific fisheries, will hold its General Membership Meeting on Thursday, April 30, to “update our members on the harm from Gov. Brown’s proposed tunnels,” said RTD Executive Director Barbara Barrigan-Parrilla. “The governor is trying to rush through a project that will doom our fisheries, destroy the Delta and ruin our beloved estuary and communities.”

The meeting will also address the attack on Delta water rights being funded by the Metropolitan Water District, the harm from barriers the State intends to install, and offer better solutions to the drought and sustainable water solutions.

My brother and I are small boat commercial fishermen from Bodega Bay. We run Calvi Bros Seafood out of San Francisco, and the Delta Tunnels would take a huge bite out of our annual income.
Please let me know how I can help.
    Thanks,

Hi Just thought I would comment on a recent trip to Hanford,ca.
Going down highway 5 many new crops were being planted or were already planted. This same acreage was being watered like there was no drought. Crossing over to highway 99 the same thing was going on. This also means the farms all the way to Sacramento. Most of the irrigation lines had many leaks not even watering anything but dirt. Most of the new crops were grapes and almonds. Signs were everywhere telling how bad the drought is as they were flooding the fields. It doesn’t seem like enough information is getting to people in northern Calif. I talk to many people that don’t even know what Restore the Delta is. In Rodeo where I live I have seen three bumper signs. In the clearlake area the only sticker I have seen is the one on my girlfriends truck. I hope more info is spread to help people understand how bad the twin tunnels are and what a waste of large amounts of money. Thanks for letting me vent a little, I live by San Pablo Bay and know the damage the lack of fresh water is doing to everything. I am telling as many people about this as I can.

    Thanks again, Ron Trainer
