RTD Executive Director to present BDCP comment information
at Valley Water Consortium Water Conference H2O #2

FRESNO – Restore the Delta (RTD), opponents of the Bay Delta Conservation Plan, Gov. Brown’s plan to build Peripheral Tunnels that would drain the Delta and doom salmon and other Pacific fisheries announced today that Executive Director Barbara Barrigan Parrilla will be participating in the H20 #2 Troubled Water, 2014 Water Consortium Conference.

It’s nearly impossible for a concerned citizen to review and digest the avalanche of information, and misinformation on the Bay Delta Conservation Plan on their own.  With just a few weeks left to respond to the Brown Administration’s 40,000 page proposed Plan, Ms. Barrigan Parrilla will present information on how to identify impacts to businesses, personal property and communities, and specifics about submitting comments. “I am committed to providing the Valley Water Consortium attendees the detail they need to make their opinions known to the BDCP,” said Barrigan Parrilla.

There will be hands-on workshops and discussions that will include presentations on water conservation, drought and the future of agricultural jobs. University of the Pacific economist Dr. Jeffrey Michael will be making the keynote address; Chief Caleen Sisk of the Winnemem Wintu Tribe, Adam Scow of Food and Water Watch and others will also be making presentations. Journalist Dan Bacher, will talk about oil money and water.  The conference is free and is open to the public.
