Restore the Delta, National Geographic Photo Camp, America’s Cup Healthy Ocean Project
and Full Circle Fund Presented “From the Delta to the Bay: Our Story”

August 27, 2013, supporters of Restore the Delta, National Geographic Photo Camp
project, the America’s Cup Healthy Ocean Project and Full Circle Fund gathered
at the America’s Cup Pavilion in San Francisco for a screening of “From the Delta
to the Bay: Our Story,” and a special America’s Cup Healthy Ocean Project video.
This National Geographic Photo Camp project featured the photography and recorded
narratives of students from Downtown High School in San Francisco and Stockton Collegiate
International School in Stockton; the America’s Cup Healthy Ocean Project video
featured the same students work in progress.

Working with National Geographic photographers, these 20 students spent four days
in April touring the Bay-Delta estuary, starting at the north end of the Delta and
ending up at the Marin headlands. They took over 30,000 photos recording their
visual impressions of the region. Under the guidance of National Geographic photo
editors, and America’s Cup videographers, the story evolved into a narrative on
how both the San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean are dependent on the health
of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.

“From the Delta to the Bay: Our Story” can be viewed at the National Geographic Photo Camp website. The America’s Cup Healthy Ocean Project video can be viewed on YouTube: http://youtu.be/vumIpsHCuPc. The actual National Geographic Photo Camp Exhibit can be seen at the America’s Cup Village, located at Marina Green in San Francisco.

Restore the Delta is grateful to National Geographic Photo Camp, America’s Cup Healthy Ocean Project, Full Circle Fund, and Hanson-Bridgett LLP for providing this opportunity for young people to tell a story that all of California needs to hear.
